Waiting on

Husband went out to work in his shop and I was on the computer. This, in the picture, went on for over an hour. Waiting on master to come back. Its a good thing Hubby works at home or they would sure miss him.

Snow day sewing

Another snow day. 10" on top of two feet and I'm not moving from this house. So working on this. A ggrandson is due in April so I've gotta get a move on.

The 1st picture is the view from my sewing room window. Beautiful but cold. It was 15 below here last night.

Snowed in

No way to get out today two feet of snow then the snow plow came by and topped us off with another two feet at the top of our driveway. But after a nap I got it together and made a fresh apple cake. yummy. Then I made a bib for new g grandson. Then I finished quilting on my RRCB. Yes it is off the frame. I hope to get it trimmed and start the binding tomorrow as I know I won't get to work. Just no way to shovel our way out. Not as young as we used to be.

Roll Roll Cotton Boll quilt

I've been working on this mystery for 8 weeks now. I got the last clue Friday I just finished it on Sunday night. Hubby loves it I'm not sure If I do. I think maybe some embroidery in the strip blocks might liven it up. I'll see what my friends think.

Baby quilt

When piecing RRCB I miscounted and made way too many three piece sets and so here is what I made with them. I was expecting a great grandbaby girl in April 2011 but she turned out to be a he. So this one is finished waiting on the first girl and I've started on one for a cowboy.

RRCB part 7

Rolling right along. I have not had a lot of time to work on this mystery but I'm keeping up. Not sure that I like my choice of fabrics but time will tell. They are all out of my scrap basket except for some browns and the red/black constant which came out of the stash. I only purchased a half yard of brown. Thanks Bonnie for another great quilt. Only one basket of scraps left where there were two.

RRCB step 1 finished

I pulled fabric but after Bonnie posted the instructions for step 1 to use 2 inch strips I went to my 2" bin and pulled green and pink and didn't even use my larger pieces. I love how the pink & green work together. Then I made too many and came up with this way to use them. I'm liking it.

Design Wall Monday 082310

Several things going today. All I like on the string quilt is hand sewing the binding down. This may wait until cooler weather and a chic flick. The log cabin is a precut noodle that I just had to have. To me there is not enough contrast between the light and dark. I knew this but wanted to get it sewed up and out of there as it does not play well with my stash. Maybe a back for a baby quilt for my next ggrandbaby if it is a girl. The design wall behind the ironing board has the ongoing project. I'm loving it and going slow so as to not mess it up. I have decided to add a narrow dark border then autumn leaves blocks around it. I don't know where I'll go from there.

Design wall

My quilting design wall looks the same as last week. But I've figured out how to do part of it. I had to stop and make a gift. This bag is for my favorite Auntie, in California, who I'm planning on visiting this September.

Always happy to see

I'm always glad to see these guys come. There were two of them and they made quick work of laying down our hay in the little meadow between our house and the road. We only got three bigs bales off of it but this was the second cutting this year.

Wednesday, August 11, 2010

I guess I need to change my profile as I'm now a great grandmother. I have seen the baby and held it but have not spent a lot of time with it. I'm so wanting to.

Monday, August 02, 2010

I've got the Egret done (He is beautiful in person) and purchased fabric to go with it. I've got plenty of the print so I'm ready to start designing it, which is the hardest part for me. But its becoming my favorite part.
Anyone have any ideas? lets have them.

I'm thinking of a small quilt that would fit across the back of my couch.
