This is a customers quilt. Patricia did a wonderful job piecing it. It is the largest quilt I've gotten 108" X 110". I love the colors she used and its just as pretty on the back as the front. It took 11 full bobbins to quilt it.

quilt finish
I'm proud this is finished. It has taken up space and too much time. I feel like I'll have my sewing room back. It is a king size quilt that I was asked to make for a friend. I told him he was not that good of a friend then when he told me how much he would pay me I decided he was a friend for life. 50 plus years and still goin strong type of friendship. I used a thread that changed from light beige to dark brown. I think I really like it. Since its scraps some of the fabrics stand out but thats ok. It did make a dent in my scrap pile.

Christmas Stocking
Boy what ever happened to the summer. Last post was in May. Well here is what I sewed up this am. I started a job at Hancocks a popular fabric store here in Oklahoma. This is a cheater fabric that they are selling. It will be put up as a sample. I quilted the front and added some sparkle then sewed the back and lining in one step. Turned it all and pressed. Then I added the spur. I'm pleased with it.

This has been done for awhile Judy L had it on her blog. Quilt for an hour a day project. Thanks Judy. It is all done with scraps except for the final border. I ran out of Purple. My granddaughter loves it. Good thing its her graduation present. I've got one week to get it quilted. It was a fun quilt to make. However it took some digging to get all that fabric dug out I'm happy with it.
Some things I've been working on. Simple sewing to use up stash and to have some on had to give as gifts.
These are all scrappy quilts. I do love the Arkansas crossroads. It will stay on the guest bed.
The small western one is to have on hand for the next boy baby. The red and blue fabric was given to me. I've had them for a number of years they just would not go into a project. When I had this idea it was a yea moment.

Staying busy
April is a busy month in Oklahoma and with a late freeze that hurt our grapes, pecan trees and garden. Well I've been busy cleaning up. But made some time for quilting and have a strippy quilt top and a small quilt to show for it. The small one is just my blocks that I've tested embroidery designs on. I hate to throw them away. Then I did some string piecing and fancy stitch's around them.

Fishy story
Number 4 grandchild has a fishy story to tell. Seems this is his first time to use plastic worm to fish with. Dad says he did not touch the fishing pole but talked little red head thru it. This child is a delight and I'm so glad for him. The fish weighed in at a little over 5 lbs thats big for an Oklahoma stock pond. Seems the fish was a fighter and almost pulled little red head into the pond. WTG.

Mom's gift
Tomorrow is Mom's 81 birthday party. So I made her a bag because I could. Hopeful that she gets to carry it for a long time. I didn't have a pattern so I'm happy that it turned out well. The hard part was finding a design. She loves flowers, fishing, anything out of doors and raises Border Collies. I'm proud of it.

babysitting
Miss Sunshine is here with me for awhile she is 4 and very handy. She likes for grandma to sew for her and helped in the design of a dress today. She very much knew how she wanted it made.
Here she is feeding the wild geese. Since its getting warm we also made her a pair of shorts. She's wearing them. Shorts, dress and a pair of pants. Tomorrow we are making tops to go with them.
