Homemaker married to wonderful husband we live in Oklahoma and try to raise cattle, chickens and pets. We like to garden and he restores classic Auto's. I love to try to sew. I've made several quilts.
Several things going today. All I like on the string quilt is hand sewing the binding down. This may wait until cooler weather and a chic flick. The log cabin is a precut noodle that I just had to have. To me there is not enough contrast between the light and dark. I knew this but wanted to get it sewed up and out of there as it does not play well with my stash. Maybe a back for a baby quilt for my next ggrandbaby if it is a girl. The design wall behind the ironing board has the ongoing project. I'm loving it and going slow so as to not mess it up. I have decided to add a narrow dark border then autumn leaves blocks around it. I don't know where I'll go from there. See more design walls here http://www.patchworktimes.com/
My quilting design wall looks the same as last week. But I've figured out how to do part of it. I had to stop and make a gift. This bag is for my favorite Auntie, in California, who I'm planning on visiting this September.
I'm always glad to see these guys come. There were two of them and they made quick work of laying down our hay in the little meadow between our house and the road. We only got three bigs bales off of it but this was the second cutting this year.

I guess I need to change my profile as I'm now a great grandmother. I have seen the baby and held it but have not spent a lot of time with it. I'm so wanting to.

I've got the Egret done (He is beautiful in person) and purchased fabric to go with it. I've got plenty of the print so I'm ready to start designing it, which is the hardest part for me. But its becoming my favorite part. Anyone have any ideas? lets have them.
I'm thinking of a small quilt that would fit across the back of my couch.

My work for this past weekend. A pillow for my friend that admired mine. Done & ready to go. Two burp cloths for my first GGson due in two weeks. Fun to do. I decided to add another round of blocks on the log cabin instead of borders. I think I like it. Only 6 more to go. See more design walls at patchworktimes.com

Daughter said she also wanted to make baby a quilt and I'm proud to say she came and did every stitch herself including the quilting and binding.
A quilt that I made for my first great grandson. We will get to meet him in three weeks when he get born.
My design wall monday. I'm trying to figure out a different way to border this log cabin top using small 9 patch blocks. Needs more work. See more at http://www.patchworktimes.com/.
Today I made a wall hanging. Not just any wall hanging this one is special. It is made from fabric that was left over from DD quilt that is almost ready to quilt. Just needs a border. And it is an entry in a contest at hatchedinafrica.com. Wish me luck. I really don't expect to win. Just funnin.
I decided to finish up quilts that I had started so this is the second finish. Nice to have them out of my sewing room. This one is for Logan she is my 7 year old gd. I just love her to pieces.
I think Mom liked the quilt. At least she said she did. A good time was had by all and the food was great

I finished a quilt two days ago and today gave it to my mom for her 84th Birthday. She loved it. It is brighter than anything I've ever done and I loved it. Machine appliqued butterflys on black kona cotton and batiks. The butterflys are from hatchedinafrica.com they are nice to work with.
This is my design wall today. It has looked the same for a few weeks. All I like is adding some borders which are on the ironing board. Soon it will go on the quilting machine. See more design walls here: http://www.patchworktimes.com/
There is nothing like a deadline to get you moving. 2nd Granddaughter decided to get married. I've had this top done for a year so down it came and onto the quilting machine. Two days later bound and ready to go for the Shower in two days. Yea.

Progress made in Logan Maree's quilt. It's coming along. Grandma Loves' ya Logan.
This quilt was pieced by a lady probably 40 years ago. Her granddaughter brought it to me to finish. First I did some repairs then added a pretty red border. Next came quilting, label and binding. I think it is beautiful. Some of the fabrics are too cute. Probably from the 20 & 30's.

Fairyland block number 1. When I finished this block I wanted to do it again it was so much fun. I've started #3.
Future sewist in the works.
A fun day My son and family came and spent a day and night with us.
I showed DIL how to run the Babylock Embroidery machine and she fell in love. She got block two finished. The kids were glued to the machine and DIL really learned quick.
Just barely made it. 5 more days in this month. We are snowed in so what did I do. Finished sewing some Christmas presents for GD #3 who loves her American doll.
September was my last post. Gee where did October go? Well I have been busy so I guess I'll forgive myself. Here is what I'm working on. I had a time figuring out how to do the stars in the sashing but I think I got it. I'm waiting on approval on the setting before sewing the blocks together. Thats why it looks wonky.
My daughter & GD came for a visit and the first thing they did was visit the sewing room to see what grandma was workin on. I'm sure to get first dib's on it If it was nice. Anyway I was working on Cuddlesome Critters from HIA and they are so cute. DD said I'd like these better on a print instead of muslin. I said have at it. They picked out fabrics and I showed GD how to operate the Babylock embroidery machine and by nightfall GD had enough blocks done to do this baby quilt. A very enjoyable visit. I wish it happened more often.
