Wall hanging

Today I made a wall hanging. Not just any wall hanging this one is special. It is made from fabric that was left over from DD quilt that is almost ready to quilt. Just needs a border. And it is an entry in a contest at hatchedinafrica.com. Wish me luck. I really don't expect to win. Just funnin.

On a roll

I decided to finish up quilts that I had started so this is the second finish. Nice to have them out of my sewing room. This one is for Logan she is my 7 year old gd. I just love her to pieces.

Mom's birthday

I think Mom liked the quilt. At least she said she did.

I finished a quilt two days ago and today gave it to my mom for her 84th Birthday. She loved it. It is brighter than anything I've ever done and I loved it. Machine appliqued butterflys on black kona cotton and batiks. The butterflys are from hatchedinafrica.com they are nice to work with.

Design wall monday

This is my design wall today. It has looked the same for a few weeks. All I like is adding some borders which are on the ironing board. Soon it will go on the quilting machine. See more design walls here: http://www.patchworktimes.com/

Deadline

There is nothing like a deadline to get you moving. 2nd Granddaughter decided to get married. I've had this top done for a year so down it came and onto the quilting machine. Two days later bound and ready to go for the Shower in two days. Yea.

Another finish. This photo does not do this quilt justice. It is beautiful. Too bright for my taste but pretty.

UFO Finish

This quilt was pieced by a lady probably 40 years ago. Her granddaughter brought it to me to finish.
First I did some repairs then added a pretty red border. Next came quilting, label and binding. I think it is beautiful. Some of the fabrics are too cute. Probably from the 20 & 30's.

Fairyland block number 1. When I finished this block I wanted to do it again it was so much fun. I've started #3.

A fun day My son and family came and spent a day and night with us.

I showed DIL how to run the Babylock Embroidery machine and she fell in love. She got block two finished. The kids were glued to the machine and DIL really learned quick.

December post

Just barely made it. 5 more days in this month. We are snowed in so what did I do. Finished sewing some Christmas presents for GD #3 who loves her American doll.

Where did October go?

September was my last post. Gee where did October go? Well I have been busy so I guess I'll forgive myself. Here is what I'm working on. I had a time figuring out how to do the stars in the sashing but I think I got it. I'm waiting on approval on the setting before sewing the blocks together. Thats why it looks wonky.

HatchedinAfrica Peacock

This is my third try stitching out this Peacock. Still not perfect but what is around here. Its still pretty and makes a nice cushion.

I'm trying to finish up some projects that are cluttering up the sewing room.

I'd love to get it whipped into shape. Soon.
