Terri's quilt

My friend Terri asked me to quilt a special quilt that she made for her sister. Isn't it just beautiful. I love the fabrics that she picked. A lucky sister I would like to see her face when she recieves it next week for her birthday.

It is not trimmed so that is the white streak that you see in the photo.

New addition to Farm

It was not running and had not run for 7 years and all four tires were flat. But DH took a chance and one week later after draining all liquids and repairs he got it running.
There are some more equipment that came with it I don't know what all. I'm ready to bring it home.

Making template

I got the pictures in the wrong order see the bottom one first.

This is how to make patterns on the computer using your printer and a design. I use a cheap glue stick and my iron. I think it is self explaining. This pattern is from quiltville.com http://quiltville.com/pdf/bonniesbasket6.pdf

thimbles

Thimbles a love hate can't do without them thing. I have many but these two are the go to one's. the yellow one I love because it wont hurt my finger. the metal one is generic from Hancocks or JoAnn's I like the rim hated that it hurt my finger. I had DH take it to the shop and hit it with a heavy hammer making it oval shape. That really helped. The finger in the photo just shows what quilting for too long a time will do to a joint. The box I love we found it at a junk shop someone made it from a drawer. I love how it holds thread I carry it to my easy chair with quilts to sew on bindings. check out Bonnies site to see more thimble stories. http://quiltville.blogspot.com/

Orca Bay Progress

Its coming right along. I'm liking it and the best thing is it used up a lot of scraps however I've more to use. I'm already thinking about my next project I'm thinking of finishing a UFO. Probably a good idea.
